On 18th of May 2022 an EMS-G/GRCS delegation from Tbilisi, Borjomi and Akhaltsikhe visited Garni VFRG along MES-A/ARCS delegation from Yerevan, Abovyan, Mets Parni and Spitak.
Volunteer Fire Rescue Groups of Garni have introduced to the Georgia delegation, how the group has been established, how volunteers were trained, what are their role and responsibilities, which equipment they use, how is organised the alert & communication system but also what the role and responsibilities of Garni municipality, Hrazdan ARCS branch and Abovyan MES-A fire brigade.
The delegation visited the VFRG fire station and was received by Garni Head of Municipality.
On this occasion a third simulation exercise was also organised to show to Georgian delegation the Garni VFRG in deployment as first responders and their interaction with MES-A firefighters and local medical services.
The exercise was followed by a technical debriefing organised between EMS-G guests from Samtskhe-Dajakhetie, the MES-A fire and rescue service of Abovyan and the volunteers and then a discussion between the delegation about the Garni VFRG and different lessons learned.
The Austrian Red Cross Disaster Preparedness Advisor, Resilient Advisors Network Technical Advisor and Austrian Red Cross Project Manager were present as observers for the simulation and part of the discussion between Armenian and Georgian delegations.
